Restylane Before & After Comparison
Restylane is a filler that is most often used to combat the visible signs of aging. There are many types of Restylane including Restylane Refyne and Defyne. These are the two types of Restylanes that are available at The Dermatology Center of Newport. These are injectable hyaluronic acid gels designed to fill in fine lines and wrinkles in the face by adding volume and fullness. Restylane is also commonly used in lip injections to plump up lips to give a fuller appearance. What really sets it apart from other fillers is that it is more flexible and therefore moves more easily with facial motion. This achieves a more natural appearance. Like Juvederm, it is a synthesized and fully degradable substance that does not require allergy testing prior to treatment.
What is Restylane Used For?
Restylane is used to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and signs of aging. It works by filling in lines and wrinkles, which adds volume back to the face. When injected into the treatment area Restylane works with the body’s own hyaluronic acid to create additional volume in the desired area. In addition to filling wrinkles, Restylane is also used for lip enhancement. Restylane is commonly used to treat the following areas:
- Nasolabial folds (laugh lines)
- Around the mouth (marionette lines)
- Lip border definition (lipstick lines)
- Lip enhancement
- Corners of the mouth
- Jowl area
